About Us

Who We Are & What We Do

PWD Smart Farmability is a social enterprise founded by paraplegic farmer Dr. Billy Tang Chee Seng, accredited by the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC). We exist to empower, first and foremost, Malaysia’s disabled community through regenerative agriculture principles – by making nutritious food and food-growing skills accessible to them. On top of people with disabilities, our beneficiaries also include B40, homeless shelters, drug rehabs, prisons, single mothers, indigenous people, and others who fit the profile.

Vision

To end hunger and nutrition insecurity with our multiple proof-of-concepts demonstrating that regenerative agriculture is the key to poverty alleviation and soil health restoration.

Mission

To farm for the poor, and to arm them with the knowledge & wisdom to self-sustain.

CORE TEAM

Diverse, inclusive, and passionate - our core team members hailing from different backgrounds contribute their unique expertise to make PWD Smart Farmability what it is today.

Board of Advisors

We are endlessly grateful to our Board of Advisors for extending their time and lending their rich portfolio of expertise to ensure our success in every possible endeavour.

A paraplegic farmer’s dream to feed all

In 2015, Dr Billy Tang was involved in a serious accident which robbed him of his ability to walk. An agriculturist before the accident, Tang endured severe depression but with the love and support from his family and friends, he embraced his “new life” as a paraplegic and returned to his area of expertise in farming.
