An Evening With with Tan Seri Rafidah Aziz

Late last year in October 2019, PWD Smart Farmability's founder, Dr. Billy Tang met up with Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz to discuss the theme of "Malaysia Moving Forward".

Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz is a veteran Malaysian politician whose list of accomplishments is nothing short of exemplary. She stepped in as a Member of Parliament from 1978 to 2013, and later became the Minister of International Trade and Industry from 1987 to 2008, also acting as the chairman of MATRADE beginning 1991. Presently, she is a member of Malaysia United Indigenous Party (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU)) and an appointed member of the Malaysian Economic Action Council (EAC).

Tan Seri Rafidah Aziz was appointed one of the members Economic Action Council (EAC) by the new PH government on 11 February 2019.

During the meeting, Dr. Billy Tang sought for her advice on PWD Smart Farmability as "A Sustainable Agriculture Enterprise" in our "Neighbourhood Supported Agriculture (NSA) Model" and Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement.

With her well-seasoned experiences, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz provided clear and wise directions on how to make it a sustainable model and assured Dr. Billy Tang that she would bring PWD Smart Farmability's aspiration to the cabinet.

From that, we began rapidly progressing towards pushing our low carbon initiatives into action. It then resulted in our first Smart Farmability "Neighbourhood Supported Agriculture (NSA)" Modular System to be sponsored by Richard Ng of Future Vitaponic.

In line with the Shared Prosperity 2030 Vision for Malaysia, it has also inspired us to adopt the "Zero Reject Policy" and work harder to create a dent in the unemployment rate of the marginalised in society.

We continue to aspire to create meaningful jobs, growing goodness and helping the community as we deploy our modular system to empower farmers and refugees. Other than that, PWD Smart Farmability also hopes to create an environmentally sustainable nation by creating new chains of wholesome and nutritious food.

Without the generosity and kindness of those around us, we would not have been able to turn our trials into triumph. So PWD Smart Farmability would also like to extend our humble gratitude to the following people:

Richard Ng, Bernard Yeoh, Tony & team, Willie Phang, Jacky Teoh, Erik KeeKee, Jimmy Kang, Puan Karimah Koh, Dr. Chito F Sace & Central Luzon State University, Jianhua Zhang, Yim Yann Fon Fon, Annie Chow, Goh Yew Boon & friends, Loo Keat Chan, Jasan Yew & friends, Beow Lee Rotary Club Bkt Angkasa, Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia (DPIM), Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA), Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM), Global Tobacco Manufacturers (GTM), Methodist Boys' School Kuala Lumpur (MBSKL) Class'83, Pasar Seloka, Wondermilk, Myanmar Community Foundation, Dr. Lu Chit Gwa and others who were not mentioned.
